My story
I've always wanted to do a marathon but there's no way I could run one! When a group at work said they were going to walk a marathon & I found out that I could raise funds for Cancer Research UK to research Leukaemia specifically, I was in.
Why Leukaemia though? A few years ago my mum was diagnosed with Leukaemia, it’s a long-term cancer so there’s no immediate risk but the doctors can’t do anything to cure it, even though they’ve ‘caught it early’. That’s what strikes me most, that even though they know she has Leukaemia they’re unable to do anything except monitor it.
So I want to raise funds to research into Leukaemia so that, if not for mum, then sometime in the future the doctors will be able to do something to prevent Leukaemia developing and causing problems.
So please sponsor me now!
