My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am walking a half marathon through London during the night in October to raise money to help beat Lung Cancer. I am dedicating my walk to my Uncle Tony who was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer last year. He has undergone extensive chemotherapy which has caused him to suffer some awful side effects but throughout everything has maintained his usual positive, cheerful outlook on life. As well as battling with cancer Tony also had to endure the amputation of a large part of one of his legs earier this year, and is currently getting used to his new "purpose built" one and undergoing endless physio sessions at Roehampton Hospital. He would give anything to be able to walk round the golf course again, a fact that I will try to remember when things get tough on the 1st October!

I am grateful for the support that Tony gave me during a difficult time in my life two years ago: he threw me a lifeline and I am hoping that the money I raise will help to do the same for cancer patients.

I appreciate that we all get many requests for sponsorship these days, which is why I have tried to be realistic with my target, so any amount will help - however small.
